Israel Mbonyi, one of Rwanda’s most renowned gospel artists, made history with a massive concert in Kampala, where he performed for over 15,000 fans gathered at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

The concert took place on the night of August 23, 2024, with fans from various parts of Uganda eagerly awaiting Israel Mbonyi’s arrival.

An estimated 15,000 attendees filled the Lugogo Cricket Oval, a venue that isn’t easily packed by just any artist in the Ugandan music scene.

With his full band, Israel Mbonyi did not disappoint. For nearly two hours, he entertained the crowd with his popular hits, from his early tracks to his latest releases, led by the song “Nina Siri.”

After the concert, Israel Mbonyi was greeted by Rwanda’s Ambassador to Uganda, Col. Joseph Rutabana, who congratulated him alongside others in attendance.

Following the show, Israel Mbonyi took to his social media platforms and wrote, “My God, Kampala—what a night full of praises. Thank you, God, for this unforgettable experience.”

This Kampala concert precedes another one Mbonyi is set to perform in Mbarara, Uganda, on August 25, 2024.
